Official APRS.fi App Released for Android

Android users can now access the official APRS.fi application. APRS.fi has long been one of the most widely used tools for tracking APRS activity worldwide, providing real-time viewing of station positions, weather data, telemetry, and messages transmitted over the APRS network.

The new app brings features known from the web version into a convenient mobile format. Users can track stations on a live map, search callsigns, view track history, and monitor nearby objects and stations. The application also supports sending and receiving APRS messages and can work with selected TNC devices via Bluetooth.

Until now, many Android users relied on third-party apps such as APRSdroid. The release of an official APRS.fi client provides direct access to a tool developed by the maintainers of one of the most frequently used APRS tracking services. For operators active in the field—such as during POTA and SOTA activations, outdoor events, or emergency communication drills—it offers easier access to APRS data without needing a web browser.

The application is already available for download on the Google Play Store.
