Remember TG9? In the DMR systems, it was the classic repeater group for local QSOs – no links, no internet, just pure communication through a single repeater. Now, within Group 312 Chicago, we’re returning to those roots by introducing Group 9 on our analog repeaters.
Activation is simple: just dial DTMF 9# to switch the repeater into local mode. From that moment on, all transmissions take place only through that repeater, without linking to the rest of the FM Poland network. We chose number 9 for a reason – it’s a nod to our early days of experimenting with linking and the TG9 group in DMR.
All other rules remain the same: if there is no activity for one minute, the repeater will automatically reconnect to FM Poland and resume monitoring the programmed groups.
Each of our repeaters also has its own individual group, which allows direct access to a specific repeater without activating the entire Group 312 network. The repeater group numbers are as follows:
W9GIL-UHF – 31093121,
K9RCZ-VHF – 31093123,
KE9CPD-UHF – 31093124,
SR9NKU – 260993,
SR4ROBI – 260499.
Group 9 is a return to the classic style of radio communication — local conversations, simple and direct. It’s a chance to enjoy the full potential of analog FM, listen to who’s nearby, and just have a chat without the internet. Sometimes, it’s within these short local QSOs that true radio community spirit is born. We encourage you to give it a try!
