MotoPOTA v.1

MotoPOTA v.1

Group 312 Chicago invites all fans of amateur radio, motorcycles, and the outdoors to a special MotoPOTA gathering taking place on May 30 at 3:00 PM at Moraine Hills State Park at Whitetail Prairie Picnic Shelter. The idea behind the event is simple — bring together radio enthusiasts, have a great time, and activate the park as part of the Parks on the Air (POTA) program.

This will be a great opportunity to make radio contacts, test portable and mobile radio setups and antennas, exchange experiences, and meet others who share the same passion. The event is open to everyone — both licensed amateur radio operators and people who are simply curious about ham radio. For those without a license, this is a perfect chance to see amateur radio in action, learn about the equipment used for field operations, and experience what a real POTA activation looks like behind the scenes.

MotoPOTA is also a great opportunity for local amateur radio operators to meet in person, connect with new operators, share ideas and experiences, and simply enjoy time together away from the radio and the internet. Come by motorcycle, car, or bicycle and see how a POTA activation works in practice. Bring a good attitude and enjoy a fun afternoon of radio, friendship, and the outdoors. See you on the air and at the park!
